Wildlife Bird Recovery Centre

Natalie Munn - Thursday, February 16, 2012
Guild & Spence Electrical were proud to be involved with the recent Rena oil spill Wildlife Bird Recovery Centre temporarly situated at Te Maunga. We would like to congratulate the National Oiled Wildlife Response Team including Maritime NZ, Massey University and the hundreds of volunteers who worked tirelessly to clean up the affected birds. In total, 409 birds were cared for including 345 Little Blue Penguin, 60 rare NZ Dotterel and 4 Pied Shags.

The center has now been dismantled and the remainder of the unreleased birds are being cared for at Massey University. Well done guys!
